Donald Owens, Vice President

Donald Owens is Vice President of Technical Machines, Inc. Don has over 40 years of machine shop experience. Don started out as a young boy working in his fathers shop sawing and deburring parts. Over The years that Don worked for his father he learned to run engine lathes and the basics of the machine shop business. Don went on to a larger shop were he increased his experience in milling . After graduating from Dunwoody, he was promoted to the NC department. Were he learned to program NC machines, and was later named lead man in the milling department. He went on to become shop foreman, where his responsibilities included scheduling jobs and motivating the machinists who reported to him.

With the founding of Technical Machine, Inc. in 1979, Don worked full-time at his day job and nights and weekends with Rick. In 1984, Technical Machine had just moved into a small rented building Don was able to bring his expertise and experience to Technical Machine, Inc. on a full-time basis. Don stated building a successful business starts with taking care of your customers and your employees, they are the backbone of a company’s success.

In 1989, Technical Machine, Inc. expanded again by building a 6,000 square foot building in Blaine, Minnesota. In 1996, they were able to add another 6,000 square feet. Don has learned that it takes hard work, dedication and a good working relationship with your customers to be successful. Don still loves what he does, and maintains that excellent customer service is the key to the on-going growth and success of Technical Machine, Inc.

With over 80 years of combined experience, the brothers continue to offer the highest quality products and superior customer service.
